Movie showing of “Freestyle: The Victories of Dan Gable”, Thursday, March 23, 6:30 pm at Cedar Rapids Public Library. The Internet Movie Database says “Freesstyle” is a “documentary detailing the life of wrestling legend Dan Gable. [It] covers [Gable’s] entire life story from childhood to NCAA to Olympics to becoming one of the most successful coaches (in any sport) in the history of the NCAA. Rare footage, celebrity interviews, much narration by Gable himself.” If you’re a Gable fan, or just a wrestling fan, you won’t want to miss this screening!
Author Event: Dan Gable, Saturday, March 25. 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the Cedar Rapids Public Library. Fans will enjoy Gable’s humorous and folksy program. There will be a chance for questions, books will be for sale, and Gable will sign books and chat with fans immediately following his program.
