Linn Area Reads 2011

Irreplaceable by Stephen Lovely

The 2011 Linn Area Reads selection is Irreplaceable by author Stephen Lovely. On Tuesday, April 19 at 7 p.m., Lovely will read from the book at Ballantyne Auditorium on the Kirkwood Community College campus in Cedar Rapids. The reading is one of three Linn Area Reads events scheduled this spring.

Irreplaceable is a debut novel struggling with the human world of heart transplants, organ donation, and the families who are linked by chance. The novel is set in a university town in Iowa.

Lovely will read from Irreplaceable, take questions from the audience, and sign books during his April 19 appearance.

Additional Linn Area Reads programs include a book discussion at 7 p.m. on March 24 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers; as well as a special moderated discussion on organ donation featuring the Iowa Donor Network at 2 p.m. on April 2 at the Marion Public Library.

All Linn Area Reads events are free and open to the public. Linn Area Reads is a program of the Metro Library Network, which is made up of the Cedar Rapids, Marion, and Hiawatha Public Libraries.

Lovely’s April 19 reading will also be the first event for the 2011 edition of Out Loud! The Metro Library Network Author Series. The full Out Loud! lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.
