Out Loud! The Metro Library Network Author Series will present bestselling author Dennis Lehane on Friday, June 28, at 7 p.m.

The event—which is free and open to the public with no tickets required—will take place in the Hotel at Kirkwood Center. The Out Loud! Author Series is a program of the Cedar Rapids, Marion, and Hiawatha Public Libraries. Organizers have requested that patrons register for the event by visiting http://bit.ly/OutLoud or calling one of the metro libraries.

Lehane’s first novel, A Drink Before the War, won the Shamus Award, launching a career featuring numerous bestsellers, three of which—Mystic River, Gone, Baby, Gone, and Shutter Island—have been made into feature films. His most recent novel, Live By Night, was honored with the 2013 Edgar Award.

Following his presentation, Lehane will take questions from the audience and then sign books. The Cedar Rapids Barnes & Noble will be on hand with copies of his work available for purchase.

All attendees can enter to win one a Nook HD+ and three e-books by Lehane.
